Blast in Quetta as Pakistan votes, at least 26 killed, 30 injured

Islamabad: Even as on Wednesday went to the vote to choose a new government, the northwestern city of experienced a powerful blast that killed at least 26 people.

According to the reports reaching here, a police van stationed near a polling station was the target. Approximately 30 injured have been shifted to the hospitals.

The group said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber, but did not provide further detail or evidence for its claim.
