Hanoi, Nov 11 (UNI) In a joint statement on Syria in Da Nang in Vietnam, US President Donald and Russian President Vladimir on Saturday agreed to continue their joint efforts in fighting in Syria until it was defeated.

The Kremlin confirmed the report about the statement on Syria that took place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Da Nang and said it was coordinated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Da Nang.

The White House did not immediately respond to questions about the Kremlin announcement or the conversation. The White House press secretary Sarah Sanders had earlier told the reporters that Trump would not hold a formal meeting with Putin at the APEC Summit.
