Class VI girl student who stabbed class I boy for sake of holiday, arrested

Lucknow: Aliganj police on Thursday arrested a Class VI girl student of in Lucknow for allegedly stabbing and grievously injuring a Class I student of the same institution. The principal of the school was also arrested and sent to jail by police.The boy was in stable condition and doctors attending him said that he was recovering from the injury.

According to the police, on Tuesday morning, the Class I pupil, Hritik Sharma, was stabbed with a kitchen knife on the chest and stomach inside a toilet of the school.'We have sent the hair of the girl, found on the body of the child, for DNA test," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) told mediapersons.Rajat Manas, the principal of the Triveninagar school, has been arrested after a FIR was registered against the school under section 32 (contrary intention) and 325 (grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code, the SSP said.

The girl will be presented before a Juvenile Justice Board, Mr Kumar added.On Wednesday, the King George Medical College authorities, where the child is undergoing treatment, informed the media about the stabbing. The school had given false information to Hritik's parents that he had met with an accident.

The District Inspector of schools has issued a show cause notice to the Brightland institution for not informing the police about the stabbing on time.Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rushed to the on Thursday afternoon to inquire about the child's health.The family members of the victim, along with others, on Thursday staged a protest outside the school, demanding stern action against the authorities. The father of the victim is an employee of the Allahabad High Court.Mr Adityanath assured the boy's family members of stern action against the guilty.(UNI)
