PM challenges ONGC to make electric chulha for Indian style of cooking

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday threw up a challenge to the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation – the to develop an electric chulha(oven) that could be used for all kinds of Indian cooking. The Prime Minister's challenge came while addressing officers and staff of the ONGC at a function to mark the launch of the last mile electric connectivity scheme, the SAUBHAGYA Yojana, on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary.

He said that while the world was working towards electric cars, in India, in addition to electric cars, electric stoves would go a long way in meeting the needs of the people. He asked ONGC to invite startups and youth to innovate in this field. (UNI)
