Speaking to mediapersons here Mr Nirupam said 'as a president he has accepted the mandate given by the citizens of metropolis, I have tendered my resignation to party top leader, accepting responsibility of party's debacle in corporation election.' He said this debacle was because of party's internal dispute.

Without taking names of any leader, he said people of party worked for debacle of Mr Nirupam. Here I (Mr Nirupam) am not important, we have to work for the party...If this dispute continues further, party will suffer more, he said.
