Srinagar: Security forces today burst teargas shells to in Srinagar, demonstrating against the use of alleged disproportionate force on students, including girls, in the south Kashmir district of Pulwama. Meanwhile, scores of students, besides security force personnel, were injured in the clashes. Meanwhile, Degree College Pulwama has been closed for two days from today in view of the prevailing situation. According to the District Magistrate Pulwama, Government Degree College (Boys) Pulwama will remain closed on April 17 and 18. “It was informed that the step has been taken in view of certain unavoidable circumstances,” a spokesperson said. He said the students of the college were informed that no classes will be held on the aforementioned dates. (UNI)
