Toy Story 5
The latest installment in Pixar’s iconic animated franchise, Toy Story 5, has achieved a record-breaking debut, emerging as the highest-grossing opening weekend in the series’ history.

Released on June 19, the film has already amassed over $312 million at the global box office in its opening weekend, according to entertainment industry reports cited by Variety.

Directed by Andrew Stanton, with McKenna Harris serving as co-director, the fifth chapter in the beloved franchise has also secured the second-highest animated opening weekend ever in Hollywood history. It trails only Incredibles 2 (2018) in overall debut earnings.

The Toy Story franchise, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, remains one of the studio’s most successful properties. Since its groundbreaking debut in 1995, the series has earned more than $3 billion worldwide.

The original Toy Story revolutionized animation as the first fully computer-generated feature film, introducing audiences to the unforgettable characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear and establishing Pixar as a global animation powerhouse.

Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 each crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office.
