Actor Bobby Deol has revealed that his role in the upcoming film "Bandar" struck a personal chord as several aspects of the character resonated with his own life experiences. The trailer of the film was released recently. Bandar starring Bobby Deol has created a major buzz online, with its trailer crossing 10 million views on YouTube within just 48 hours of release.
Deol said that the environment he grew up in always made him worry about the safety and future of his family, especially his sisters. He explained that growing up in male dominated society has developed a unique sestivity within him, which is reflected in his character.
The film stars Deol, as Sameer Mehra, a fading pop star who faces courtroom drama and media trial after being accused of sexual assault. The story depicts a complex legal and social struggle as he attempts to prove his innocence.
Written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Raj B. Shetty, Riddhi Sen, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jitendra Joshi, and Nagesh Bhosale in important roles.
The film is being produced by Saffron Magicworks in association with Zee Studios and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 5 June 2026.
