Diljit Dosanjh Distances Himself from CJP Protest: ‘I’m an Artist, Not a Politician’
Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has made it clear that he has no intention of joining the ongoing protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, saying his focus remains on his work as an entertainer rather than politics.
During an Instagram Live session on Wednesday evening, Diljit interacted with fans and addressed several questions about current events. When asked whether he would participate in the CJP's demonstration over the alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and the NEET paper leak controversy, the actor firmly distanced himself from the issue.
“Keep me away from all this. Bro, I’m an artist. I’m not a politician. I don’t know what you think I am,” Diljit said during the live interaction.

Diljit Has Previously Spoken on Public Issues
Although Diljit has chosen to stay away from the current protest, he has voiced his opinions on social issues in the past. In 2020, he openly supported the farmers' protests against the Centre's now-repealed farm laws, earning widespread attention for backing the movement.
Earlier this year, the actor also dismissed speculation about entering politics after a civil society group urged him to consider a political career.
