Amritsar Commissionerate Police on Monday dismissed reports claiming that a firing incident had taken place outside the residence of comedian and actor Kapil Sharma in Amritsar.

In an official statement shared on social media, the police said that certain irresponsible individuals were spreading false rumours regarding an alleged firing incident outside Kapil Sharma’s house.

The police clarified that no such incident had occurred and stated that an official video statement was also being released to counter misinformation circulating online.



Authorities appealed to the public not to believe or spread unverified claims and urged citizens to rely only on information issued through official channels.

The clarification came after several media reports alleged that unidentified bike-borne individuals had opened fire outside Kapil Sharma’s residence, prompting police teams to reach the location and begin an investigation.

However, Amritsar Police categorically denied these claims and confirmed that no firing incident had taken place outside the comedian’s residence.
