Television actress Shivangi Joshi made an emotional revelation on the reality show Lock Upp 2, opening up about a traumatic incident from her childhood. During a deeply personal conversation on the show, she shared how a trusted family acquaintance allegedly behaved inappropriately with her when she was a child, leaving both fellow contestants and viewers shocked.
Shivangi Recalls Disturbing Childhood Incident
Speaking about the painful memory, Shivangi said "Meri mummy ke muhbole bhai the. Achaanak se mujhe paas bulaakar woh pakadne lage aur kaha ki jaise aapko mamma forehead par kiss karti hai, aise aapko shooting mein bhi karenge. Unhone mujhe karke dikhaya aur pakad liya. Phir jab unhone gaal par kiss kiya, mujhe bahut ajeeb lagne laga. Phir lips par unhone kiss kar liya, toh maine kaha, Mamaji ganda lag raha hai mat karo. Unhe peeche karne mein mera haath unke munh par lag gaya aur unhone mujhe zameen par phenk diya. (He was my mother's sworn brother. Suddenly, he called me closer and started holding me. He said that just like my mother kisses me on the forehead, he would do the same during the shooting. He showed me by doing it and held me tightly. When he kissed me on my cheek, I started feeling very uncomfortable. Then he kissed me on my lips, and I told him, 'Mamaji, this feels wrong, please don't do this.' While trying to push him away, my hand hit his face, and he threw me on the ground.)"
Parents Arrived in Time
The actress revealed that the situation did not escalate further because her parents returned home at the right moment. According to Shivangi, they immediately confronted the man, physically assaulted him, and threw him out of the house.
She also shared that the traumatic experience had a lasting impact on her childhood.
"For many days after that, I couldn't step outside the house or go to school. My parents never wanted to leave me alone. That's why my mother, especially, has always been extremely protective of me," she said.
Shivangi added that even today she worries about how negative comments about her might affect her mother emotionally.
