Actor, choreographer, and filmmaker Raghava Lawrence has fueled speculation about a possible political entry after announcing that he will reveal an “important decision” about his future on June 11.

The announcement comes amid growing rumors that Lawrence could contest the upcoming by-election in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli East Assembly constituency.

The by-election was necessitated after Chief Minister Joseph Vijay vacated the Tiruchirappalli East seat, having won from both Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East in the April 2026 Assembly elections.

Addressing the speculation in a statement shared on his X account, Lawrence acknowledged the widespread reports linking him to the by-election and said he would soon clarify his plans.

“News about me contesting in the Trichy East election has been circulating across various media platforms. Many friends from the media have been calling and requesting a meeting for clarification. Since the speculation has reached a point where I feel it should be addressed, I wanted to share this note,” he wrote.

Lawrence added that he is currently occupied with the shooting of his upcoming film Benz and will complete his schedule on June 10.

“With my mother’s blessings, an important decision regarding my life will be announced on Thursday, June 11, at 9:30 AM,” he said.



While the actor did not reveal any details about the announcement, his statement has intensified speculation about a potential political debut ahead of the crucial by-election.
