The makers of 'Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story' on Wednesday unveiled the first-look poster of the much-awaited biopic, featuring Rajkummar Rao recreating one of the most iconic moments in Indian cricket history—Sourav Ganguly waving his jersey from the Lord's balcony after India's memorable NatWest Trophy victory in 2002.

The poster was released to mark Sourav Ganguly's 54th birthday, offering fans their first glimpse of Rajkummar Rao in the role of the former India captain. The striking image captures the emotion and energy of Ganguly's unforgettable celebration at the historic London stadium.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Ganguly expressed his excitement for the film and praised Rao's portrayal.

"The Best Gift Ever! Can't wait to see you play my cover drive! @rajkummar_rao," the former cricketer wrote.



Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the biographical drama will trace Ganguly's remarkable journey from a talented young cricketer to one of India's most influential captains, highlighting key moments that shaped his career and Indian cricket. ALSO READ: 'No Consent for Sequel': Phantom Studios Sues JioStar Over 'Queen 2', Seeks Rs 250 Crore Damages

The film also features Tanya Maniktala as Dona Ganguly, while Aparajita Adhya will portray Ganguly's mother. Saswata Chatterjee has been cast as his father, Chandi Ganguly, and Rahul Dev Bose will play his elder brother, Snehasish Ganguly.

'Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story' is scheduled to hit theatres on May 14, bringing the life of one of India's greatest cricket captains to the big screen.
