“Avert a face-off with your competitors during a lean patch”. It is an amicable advise given to a person/entrepreneur. However, it seems that the Baadshah and Greek God of Bollywood don’t subscribe to this school of thought. The earlier unconfirmed news report stated that the next of these actors will not clash on the box office, but the release of trailer cleared all the air regarding the encounter.

Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and Shahrukh Khan’s Raees will have a same date release i.e on 25th January 2017. What would be the long term implication of this clash? One of the stars will seriously head towards his downfall. One thing is clear, both the Bollywood bigwigs have sidelined the collection to satiate their personal ego. A same day release means adverse effect on the business of movie, now the audience will decide who will suffer more with this decision.
As per the majority of the media reports, Hrithik is in a desperate need of a hit movie following the colossal failure of Mohenjo Daro. The last semi hit movie of Hrithik was action thriller Bang Bang released in 2014. Hrithik was adamant with the clash of his Historical drama MJD with Akshay Kumar’s Rustom and the latter went too ahead in the collection. Now again his movie Kaabil is clashing with SRK’s Raees. It makes the situation worse for Duggu. The plus point for Hrithik and his fans is that Trailer of the movie was impressive and the Lucky “K” initial is associated with the movie. Hrithik will play a blind man first time in his career in this revenge story. Lets see what his astonishing experiment fetches at box-office.
Whereas, Shahrukh Khan too has been trying to see off the dark days of his career at present. The intolerance statement and week script costed the performance of Dilwale and his next film Fan fared even worse. Dear Zindagi was applauded by critics, but due to the phenomenal acting of Alia Bhatt. Moreover, King Khan can face another another trouble similar to ADHM as he is paired up with Mahira Khan, Pakistani actress. The good thing to cheer about for SRK is that trailer has created enthusiasm which also features Nawaz and an item song of Sunny Leone. SRK touched popularity with negative roles in his initial days of Bollywood with Bazigar and Darr. He will expect the same with Raees with his much touted dark and different look.
Come 25 Jan, Box office may witness a neck to neck battle between Khan and Roshan.(WD)
