Tiger Shroff to miss Mumbai FC's Durand Cup match in Shillong. Here's WHY?

TIger Shroff
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff will not play for Mumbai FC in the team's Durand Cup group match against Meghalaya's Nongkseh SS&CC in Shillong on Tuesday due to a "work commitment".

Tiger was included in the Mumbai FC squad for the tournament but did not feature in either of the team's first two Group E matches, both of which they lost.

Mumbai FC suffered a 0-5 defeat against Langsning, another Meghalaya-based side, before going down by an identical margin to Shillong Lajong. The team has already been knocked out of the tournament.

"Really, really unfortunate, but a work commitment has come up at the last moment, so I won’t be able to make it to Shillong for the Durand Cup," Tiger said in a video posted on the club's Instagram profile.

"I was really looking forward to play for my team Mumbai FC but unfortunately I won't be able to make it. All the very best to everybody out there. The tournament has been amazing. All the very best Mumbai FC. Kill it boys," said Tiger, who made his debut for the club in 2024.

Mumbai FC, established in 2024, compete in the Mumbai Premier League and I-League 3, the fourth tier of India's domestic football structure. ALSO READ: Tiger Shroff, Abhishek Banerjee and Elvish Yadav Team Up for Remo D'Souza's New Action Film as Viccky Jain launches VJ Frames
