In a significant relief for commercial users, prices of 19-kg LPG cylinders used in hotels, restaurants, and other businesses have been reduced by Rs.183.50 per unit, marking the first price cut of the year.

Following the revision, the commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs. 2,930, according to oil marketing companies.

Last month, commercial LPG prices had surged to an all-time high of Rs.3,113 per 19-kg cylinder, driven by a spike in global crude oil prices amid tensions in West Asia.

Oil companies have also reduced the price of the 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder by Rs.13, bringing its retail price in Delhi to Rs.808.50.

After the latest revision, prices of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder stand at Rs.3,081.50 in Kolkata, Rs.2,954.50 in Chandigarh, and Rs.3,227 in Patna.

The price cut is expected to ease operational costs for restaurants, catering businesses, and other sectors heavily dependent on commercial LPG.

No change in domestic LPG prices

While commercial consumers have received relief, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged. The standard 14.2-kg household cylinder continues to cost Rs.942 in Delhi, Rs.968 in Kolkata, Rs.941.50 in Mumbai, and Rs.957.50 in Chennai.
