6 of Top-10 Most Valued Firms Add Over Rs.1 Lakh Crore in Market Cap; Bharti Airtel and Bajaj Finance Lead Gains

The combined market capitalisation of six of India's 10 most valuable listed companies increased by more than Rs.1 lakh crore during the past week, with Bharti Airtel and Bajaj Finance emerging as the biggest gainers amid continued strength in the equity markets.

Bharti Airtel and Bajaj Finance Lead Rally

Bharti Airtel recorded the highest increase in market valuation, adding Rs.36,529.21 crore to take its total market capitalisation to Rs.11.64 lakh crore.

Bajaj Finance followed closely, with its market value rising by  Rs.33,059.83 crore to  Rs.6.43 lakh crore.

Other major gainers included:

ICICI Bank: Up Rs.16,084.29 crore to Rs.10.12 lakh crore
LIC: Added Rs.8,601.99 crore to reach Rs.5.44 lakh crore
HDFC Bank: Gained Rs.7,664.89 crore, taking its valuation to Rs.12.34 lakh crore
Hindustan Unilever: Increased by Rs.6,461.38 crore to Rs.5.17 lakh crore

Reliance, L&T Among Biggest Losers

Among the companies that witnessed a decline in market capitalisation, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) registered the steepest fall, losing Rs.26,572.20 crore to end the week at Rs.5.54 lakh crore.

Reliance Industries, India's most valuable company, saw its valuation decline by Rs.18,945.56 crore to Rs.17.65 lakh crore.

Other stocks that ended lower included:

State Bank of India (SBI): Down Rs.4,846.08 crore to Rs.9.60 lakh crore
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS): Lost Rs.1,031.15 crore, ending at Rs.7.57 lakh crore

India's Top 10 Most Valuable Companies

Despite the weekly decline, Reliance Industries retained its position as India's most valuable listed company. The latest ranking based on market capitalisation is:

1. Reliance Industries
2. HDFC Bank
3. Bharti Airtel
4. ICICI Bank
5. State Bank of India (SBI)
6. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
7. Bajaj Finance
8. Larsen & Toubro (L&T)
9. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC)
10. Hindustan Unilever (HUL)

Markets Extend Winning Streak

Indian benchmark indices continued their upward momentum, ending the week on a positive note for the third consecutive session.

On Friday, the BSE Sensex climbed 261.79 points (0.34%) to close at 77,763.91, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 95.15 points (0.39%) to settle at 24,270.85. (Inputs from Agencies)
