NSE Set for Blockbuster Rs.30,000 Crore IPO This September: What Investors Should Know

NSE building
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is reportedly aiming to launch its long-awaited initial public offering (IPO) in September, marking one of the biggest public market events in India’s financial history.

According to reports, the issue size is expected to be in the range of Rs.30,000–Rs.32,000 crore, potentially valuing the exchange at around Rs.5–Rs.5.3 lakh crore.

Secondary Share Sale Only

The IPO will comprise entirely of offer for sale (OFS), meaning no fresh equity will be issued. Existing shareholders are expected to offload up to 148.9 million shares, representing around 6% stake, as per the draft prospectus filed last month.

Roadshows to Begin Soon

The exchange is preparing to begin roadshows shortly as it moves closer to the market debut. The offering is being closely watched by investors due to its scale and significance.

Strong Banker Line-up

NSE has appointed nearly 20 investment banks to manage the issue. The list includes major global and domestic players such as:
  • Kotak Mahindra Capital
  • JM Financial
  • Morgan Stanley
  • HSBC Holdings
  • Citigroup

One of India’s Biggest Listings

If launched as planned, the NSE IPO would rank among the largest in India’s capital market history, drawing significant interest from institutional and retail investors alike.
