Big Relief From Heat in Gujarat: IMD Predicts Thunderstorms and Rain From May 30
Amid scorching heat and rising humidity across Gujarat, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a major weather update that is expected to bring significant relief to residents. According to the latest forecast, pre-monsoon activity is set to intensify in the state from May 30, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds, lightning, and rainfall to several regions.
The weather department has predicted that from May 30 to June 2, many parts of Gujarat are likely to witness heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm activity as the pre-monsoon system becomes active.

As per the district-wise forecast, rainfall activity is expected on May 30 and 31 in North Gujarat districts including Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Aravalli, Mahisagar, and Kutch.
On June 1, thunderstorms with rain are likely to continue in Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli districts.

The rain belt is expected to expand further on June 2, covering parts of Central Gujarat, South Gujarat, and Saurashtra. Districts including Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Narmada, Chhota Udepur, Tapi, and Dang may witness lightning and rainfall.

According to the IMD, the upcoming spell of unseasonal rain and strong winds, although part of pre-monsoon activity, is likely to provide much-needed relief from the intense summer heat.

Following the scattered showers, average temperatures across the state are expected to fall by around 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The drop in temperature is likely to bring cooler conditions and relief from the severe heatwave and humidity that residents have been facing for the past several weeks.
