Candidates aspiring to build a career in Gujarat’s government education sector finally have good news. The Gujarat Primary Education Selection Committee has officially announced a major recruitment drive for 3,966 vacancies in government primary schools run by district and municipal education committees.
The recruitment includes posts for Vidyasahayak (Teaching Assistant), Special Educator and Head Teacher. According to the official notification, the online application process will begin on June 1, 2026, at 12 noon and continue until June 10, 2026, till 3 PM.
Transparent Selection Process Based on TET and Merit
The Education Department has stated that the recruitment process will be completely transparent. Selection of candidates will be based on academic qualifications, Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) scores and existing government recruitment rules.

Applicants will be required to upload all necessary documents in digital format while filling out the online application form. After verification, a final merit list will be prepared on the basis of academic performance and TET marks. Eligible candidates will then be given the option to choose districts for appointment.
