Authorities in Gujarat have intensified their crackdown on illegal mining activities as the Mines and Minerals Department, along with the police, launched a large-scale operation against mineral mafias across the state. After recent action in Surendranagar’s Chotila region, strict measures have now been taken in rural areas of Rajkot district, where police seized assets worth nearly Rs 70 lakh during raids.
The special operation was conducted in Gondal taluka under the guidance of Rajkot Range IG Nirlipt Rai.

During the operation, authorities seized several vehicles, including three dumpers loaded with sand that were allegedly being used for illegal mineral transportation.

Police said machinery and vehicles worth around Rs 70 lakh were confiscated during the raids. Officials believe the seizure will deal a major financial blow to mineral mafias operating in the region.
