Porbandar: Rs.30.67 Lakh Worth of Charas Seized From Gosabara Coast
In a major anti-drug operation, police seized charas worth an estimated Rs.30.67 lakh from the Gosabara coast in Gujarat's Porbandar district during a routine coastal patrol.
The recovery was made by the Navi Bandar Police while conducting foot patrols as part of heightened coastal security measures. During the operation, officers spotted an unattended sack lying near a landing point in the coastal area. Suspicious of its contents, the police immediately searched the bag.

10 Packets of Charas Recovered
Upon inspection, the sack was found to contain 10 packets of charas weighing approximately 12.270 kilograms. According to police, the seized narcotics have an estimated international market value of around Rs.30.67 lakh.
The contraband has been confiscated, and a case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the law.
Sea Route Smuggling Suspected
Preliminary investigation suggests that the consignment may have been smuggled into the area through the sea route. Investigators are now trying to determine the origin of the drugs, the intended recipients, and whether an organised smuggling network is involved.

Security Tightened Along Coastline
Following the seizure, police have intensified searches across Gosabara and nearby coastal areas. Investigators are analysing available evidence, including technical and digital leads such as mobile phone data, to identify those responsible.
Senior police officials said coastal surveillance and patrolling have been further strengthened to prevent drug smuggling and other illegal or anti-national activities in the region.
