Mangala Gauri Vrat Katha
According to ancient Hindu scriptures, a wealthy merchant named Dharampal and his wife lived in a prosperous city. Despite their wealth and comfortable life, they remained unhappy because they did not have a child.
Eventually, they were blessed with a son through divine grace. However, the child was destined to die from a snakebite when he turned 16 years old.
Before reaching that age, the boy married a girl whose mother faithfully observed the Mangala Gauri Vrat. Through the blessings of Goddess Mangala Gauri, the young bride had received the boon of an eternal and prosperous married life.
As a result of the spiritual power of the fast and the blessings of the goddess, Dharampal's son escaped the curse and was blessed with a long life of 100 years.
Since then, the Mangala Gauri Vrat has been observed by newly married women seeking happiness, prosperity and a long-lasting marital life. ALSO READ: Sawan Somwar 2026: Not Just Jalabhishek, These 5 Sacred Acts Can Please Lord Shiva
