Mahashivratri is celebrated across India with great devotion, but the festival is observed in an especially grand and traditional manner at the world-famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Here, the celebrations begin earlier with the start of Shiv Navratri, during which Lord Shiva is adorned in special decorations for nine
