Bengal Polls: TMC Alleges Humayun Kabir Sought Rs 1000 Cr From BJP For Support, Leader Calls It 'Fake'; Owaisi Ends Alliance

West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has stirred a political controversy by playing a purported video clip during a media briefing, accusing Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) leader Humayun Kabir of demanding Rs.1,000 crore from the BJP ahead of the state Assembly elections in exchange for extending support after the elections.

Kabir, who was earlier expelled from the TMC, strongly denied the claims and dismissed the video as “fake,” calling it part of a larger conspiracy to defame him.

The clip, whose authenticity has not been independently verified, reportedly features a person resembling Kabir claiming that he had already received Rs 300 crore to influence Muslim voters.

Reacting to the development, senior TMC leader Kunal Ghosh called for a comprehensive investigation into the matter to establish the truth behind the allegations.

Meanwhile, TMC leader Firhad Hakim launched a sharp attack, alleging that parties like AIMIM were being used to influence Muslim voters. Criticizing the alleged tactics, he said such actions undermine religious harmony and urged transparency, accusing certain groups of acting as proxies for the BJP.

However, Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM party has now ended its alliance with Humayun Kabir's AJUP. Owaisi has also cancelled his campaign plan in Bengal that would have seen him alongside Kabir.
