LJP to contest Bihar polls and win under Nitish Kumar’s leadership: Nadda" width="597" />Addressing a virtual meeting of the State Working Committee of Bihar Party today, Mr Nadda said the BJP and its allies Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will fight the upcoming elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and win.
Significantly, the assembly elections are to be held later this year in Bihar in October-November.
The BJP president dismissed the Opposition parties in the country, not just Bihar, as “a thing of the past”.
He called on party workers to rally together under the leadership of Mr Nitish Kumar to fight the Bihar elections, saying the BJP was “not only busy in enriching itself, it wants its alliance partners to be strong as well”.
Referring to Mr Kumar’s efforts to control the Coronavirus pandemic in the state, Mr Nadda said Bihar’s recovery rate today stood at 73.48 per cent. Ten crore screenings have been done door-to-door in Bihar. Corona investigation in the state had increased from 35,000 to one lakh, he said, adding that the Bihar government deserved congratulations for this work.
He lauded the work done by the state government in flood relief work.
The BJP President said Bihar had kept political and social consciousness high. “Whether we remember Champaran Satyagraha or Nav Nirman Andolan or Jaya Prakash Narayan, we find that when everyone had reached an agreement, then Bihar has given leadership. We all know about Bihar that the state has always kept a special place in the country’s politics. Be it political subjects, social issues, cultural aspects, Bihar has led in every field,” he added.
