Ketan Agarwal Murder: Police Claim Siya Goyal and Chetan Secretly Married 4 Months Before Murder
The high-profile Ketan Agarwal murder case in Maharashtra's Pune continues to take dramatic turns, with investigators uncovering fresh details almost every day. In the latest development, the police probe has revealed a claim that could significantly reshape the case. According to police sources, the two main accused—Siya Goyal, Ketan's fiancée, and her alleged boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary—got secretly married nearly four months before the crime while keeping the marriage hidden from their families.
Police also allege that the duo extensively researched murder cases, crime-based web series, podcasts, and online videos to understand how to carry out a crime while minimizing the chances of being caught.
Secret Marriage Allegedly Discovered From Chats
Police made this significant claim based on a detailed forensic analysis of the accused duo's seized mobile phones and WhatsApp conversations.
Ketan Agarwal was allegedly killed on June 18 after being pushed into a deep gorge at Lohagad Fort. Police accuse Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary of carrying out the murder together.
Police Examining Months of Digital Evidence
Authorities have been analyzing six to seven months of mobile chats, call records, location data, and other digital evidence recovered from the accused.
Officials say the investigation has entered a crucial stage, with forensic analysis revealing several searches and conversations that may help establish the alleged planning behind the crime. Police believe additional evidence could emerge as the examination continues.
Police Allege Crime Was Planned After Watching Crime Content
According to police, Siya and Chetan studied crime podcasts, online videos, web series, and several real-life murder cases from across India, including Indore's Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, before allegedly planning the killing.
Investigators claim the two discussed methods that would leave behind minimal evidence. Police allege they concluded that using a knife or any weapon could create forensic evidence and increase the risk of arrest.
Based on the interrogation, police claim Siya said they chose to push Ketan from a cliff instead of using a weapon because it would appear to be an accident and would eliminate the need to purchase, carry, or dispose of a murder weapon. First Alleged Murder Attempt Failed
Police further allege that Siya first tried to kill Ketan on June 14 by taking him to Lohagad Fort. However, investigators say she lost her nerve and failed to carry out the plan.
According to the police, Siya later told Chetan, "I don't have the courage to do it alone. You come with me, and together we'll push him."

Investigators allege that on June 18, the pair returned to the fort with Ketan and pushed him into the gorge. After the incident, they allegedly attempted to portray his death as an accidental fall.
