Pappu Yadav Turns ‘Sadhu’ in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi Offers Donation Amid Opposition’s Unique Protest
Independent MP from Bihar's Purnia constituency, Pappu Yadav, arrived at Parliament on Friday dressed in saffron robes and portraying the role of a Hindu sage as part of an unusual protest staged by opposition leaders.
During the demonstration, Pappu Yadav was seen sitting on the ground with a donation box placed beside him, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen putting money into it. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and several other opposition leaders also joined the protest. Many of them were carrying placards that read, "Why is Amit Shah absent from Parliament?"
Video Goes Viral on Social Media
The Congress party later shared a video of the protest on social media, where it quickly gained widespread attention. In its post, the party wrote, "Chadhava Chor Gaddi Chhor (Donation thieves, give up the throne)."
The party alleged that the BJP and the RSS had mishandled donations made by devotees at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and described the alleged act as a betrayal of the faith of millions of worshippers. According to the Congress, the symbolic protest inside the Parliament complex was intended to highlight the issue of the alleged misappropriation of donations.

Pappu Yadav Seen Running Away With the Donation Box
As part of the staged performance, Pappu Yadav played the role of a priest carrying the donation box. Rahul Gandhi symbolically offered a donation, and the priest was seen touching the feet of the MP representing Ayodhya.
Later, Pappu Yadav was seen leaving with the donation box, a symbolic act intended to depict the opposition's allegations regarding the alleged theft of offerings from the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.
The opposition has been demanding a discussion in Parliament on the issue. The Samajwadi Party also described the alleged incident as a "grave sin" in posters displayed outside its office in Lucknow.
