New Delhi: The suspense is over as the stage is set now for son of former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, Neeraj to join BJP.The 50-year old Shekhar, who quit as Rajya Sabha member, is likely to join the saffron outfit on Tuesday.
Mr Neeraj Shekhar, who tendered his resignation in a meeting with Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday, on late evening met BJP chief and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
BJP lawmakers Bhupendra Yadav and Anil Baluni were also present on the occasion.
Neeraj Shekhar had been contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Ballia as a Samajwadi Party leader after his father's death.
He lost the 2014 polls and was then accommodated in the Rajya Sabha. But in this year's polls, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav did not give ticket to Neeraj Shekhar and instead fielded Sanatan Pandey.(UNI)
