Uttar Pradesh: Youth shot dead by 'unhappy' brothers for marrying eldest sibling’s widow in Bhagpat
Baghpat (UP): A 32-year-old youth was shot dead by his elder brothers in Baraut area of Baghpat district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said on Saturday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Narendra Pratap Singh said late on Friday night, Yashveer was shot dead by his brothers Udaiveer and Omveer in Gurana village.
"The accused killed their younger brother because they were not happy with his marriage," they said.
He said prima facie, it has come to light that the deceased were four brothers. "After the death of their eldest brother Sukhveer, the family members married his wife Ritu and Yashveer, but his two brothers were not happy with it," he said.
The ASP said Yashveer worked as a bus driver in Delhi.
"On Friday night, when Yashveer returned from duty, Omveer and Udaiveer shot him dead. The accused have been detained and are being quizzed," he said.
