Woman tourist killed, 3 others hurt as tent collapses at 900 Kandi eco park at Wayanad
Wayanad (Kerala): A 24 -year-old woman tourist was killed and three others sustained injuries when a tent which was made with wooden logs and thatched with dry grass collapsed at a resort after a heavy rain at '900 Kandi' , a popular ecotourism destination near Meppadi, on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Nishma (24) , a beautician artist of Akampadam near Nilambur in Malappuram district.
Police said a 14-member group from Malappuram and Kozhikode reached the resort on Wednesday evening and chose four tents for resting at night. Heavy rains lashed on the last day of summer season and reportedly one of the tents collapsed over the occupants around 0130 AM on Thursday.

Heavy wooden logs fell over Nishma and she died on the spot.
Three girls injured in the incident were admitted to a private hospital at Meppadi. The body of Nimisha was shifted to Moopen's Medical College Hospital at Meppadi.
The Meppadi police has registered a case for unnatural death and begun investigation, police sources said.
