The wait is finally over for cricket fans as the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 began on June 12 in England. The tournament opener will see hosts England take on Sri Lanka at Edgbaston, Birmingham, setting the stage for 24 days of thrilling cricket action.

Led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Team India will begin its campaign on June 14 with a blockbuster clash against arch-rivals Pakistan. Defending champions New Zealand, meanwhile, will start their title defense against West Indies on June 13.

This year's tournament features 12 teams divided into two groups of six. A total of 33 matches will be played across seven iconic venues in England before the champions are crowned at Lord's on July 5.
