Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the Indian contingent for delivering an outstanding performance at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, where the country ended its campaign with a total of 39 medals, including 13 golds.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister praised the athletes for their dedication, determination and remarkable achievements, saying that the entire nation was proud of their success.
"Proud of our contingent’s performance at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Delighted that India has won 39 medals, including 13 Golds. Congrats to the medal winners," Modi wrote.
He also highlighted the commitment and resilience shown by the athletes throughout the competition, saying their achievements would serve as an inspiration to young sportspersons across the country.
"Throughout the Games, our talented athletes have displayed exceptional skill, determination and dedication. Their hardwork will keep inspiring our youngsters," he added.
Extending his wishes to the athletes and support staff, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that India's representatives would continue to shine on the international stage.
