‘Have Proof? Give It to the SIT’: Yogi Adityanath on Ram Temple Donation Row

UP CM Yogi Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday strongly criticized the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing both parties of adopting double standards on issues related to the Ram Temple and Ayodhya.

After offering prayers at the Ram Temple and addressing a public gathering in Ayodhya, the Chief Minister said the opposition parties had historically opposed the Ram Temple movement but were now attempting to politicize issues related to Ayodhya.

“Those who once ordered firing on people chanting Lord Ram’s name are now claiming to stand with Ram devotees. Congress did everything possible to obstruct the construction of the Ram Temple and even argued in the Supreme Court that Lord Ram never existed. The same party is now showing unusual concern for Ayodhya,” Yogi said.

Yogi Defends SIT Probe Into Donation Allegations

Responding to allegations of embezzlement involving donations made to the Ram Temple Trust, the Chief Minister said an investigation is already underway and urged people to avoid making baseless claims.

“The Trust itself requested an investigation, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to uncover the truth. If anyone has any evidence, they should submit it to the SIT instead of making irresponsible statements that hurt the sentiments of Ram devotees,” he said.

Yogi appealed to devotees to remain patient and trust the investigative process.

“Lord Ram taught us the values of dignity and patience. We waited 500 years for the construction of the Ram Temple. I urge everyone to wait a few more days and allow the SIT to complete its work. Do not be influenced by those trying to defame Ayodhya. If anyone is found guilty, no matter who they are, strict action will be taken,” he added.

Attack on Akhilesh Yadav

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also targeted Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, questioning his party’s commitment to Lord Ram and Ayodhya.

Yogi alleged that Akhilesh Yadav neither visited the Ram Janmabhoomi after the temple's inauguration nor encouraged his party legislators to do so.

“How can those who never showed devotion to Lord Ram understand the significance of Ayodhya? They prevented their own leaders from visiting the Ram Temple. Their actions clearly reveal where their loyalties lie,” he said.

The remarks come amid an ongoing political debate over alleged irregularities in donations related to the Ram Temple Trust, an issue that has triggered sharp exchanges between the ruling BJP and opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh.
