UP Government Launches OTR System for Jobs: No Repeated Forms for Aspirants
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a One-Time Registration (OTR) system for government job aspirants, making the recruitment process faster, easier and more transparent. Launched through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) on July 14, 2026, the new system allows candidates to register their details only once for future recruitment drives, including the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET).
The initiative, introduced by the Yogi Adityanath-led government, is completely free and is aimed at reducing paperwork, eliminating repetitive form-filling and promoting a technology-driven recruitment process.
Register Once, Apply Multiple Times
Under the OTR system, candidates will only need to submit their personal and educational information during a one-time registration process. Once verified, the data will be stored securely and automatically used for future government job applications.
Applicants must verify their registration using a valid mobile number and email address. They will also be required to provide essential details such as their name, parents' names, date of birth, category, residential address and educational qualifications.
Additionally, candidates must upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (taken within the last six months) and a digital signature in the prescribed format.
Three-Year Validity for PET Scores
One of the key highlights of the new system is the extended validity of PET scores, which will now remain valid for three years.
Candidates who have multiple valid PET scores will be allowed to use the highest score while applying for government vacancies, giving them a better chance of qualifying for recruitment.
More Transparent and Efficient Recruitment
The state government believes the OTR system will improve transparency and efficiency in the recruitment process. Since applicants' records will be maintained digitally, the chances of data entry errors and duplicate information will be significantly reduced.
UPSSSC has also clarified that once an OTR number is generated, the information submitted during registration cannot be edited. Therefore, candidates are advised to carefully verify all details before completing the registration process. Free Service for Every Candidate
The One-Time Registration facility has been made available free of cost for both new and existing candidates. The government expects the move to reduce the financial burden on job seekers while making the recruitment process more accessible to lakhs of aspirants across the state.
Officials say the digital initiative marks another important step towards modernising government recruitment and strengthening digital governance in Uttar Pradesh.
Initiative Announced by CM Yogi Adityanath
The concept of One-Time Registration was first introduced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2023 during the launch of the OTR portal and the revamped website of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC).
At the time, the Chief Minister had said the system would simplify the application process for candidates, reduce unnecessary paperwork and make government recruitment more transparent, efficient and user-friendly.
