UP Tourism Launches 5 Weekly Pilgrimage Tours from Lucknow and Prayagraj Under Visit My State Campaign

UP Tourism
In a major boost to spiritual tourism, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has expanded its ‘Visit My State Uttar Pradesh’ campaign by introducing five weekly pilgrimage tours from Lucknow and Prayagraj. The initiative aims to make religious travel more accessible, affordable, and organized while encouraging devotees and tourists to explore some of the state's most revered spiritual destinations.

The newly launched tours will connect travelers to key pilgrimage sites, including Ayodhya, Naimisharanya, Vindhyachal, and Chitrakoot. The five routes include Lucknow–Naimisharanya Dham, Lucknow–Ayodhya Sugam Darshan, Prayagraj–Vindhyachal, Prayagraj–Chitrakoot, and Prayagraj–Ayodhya.

According to the schedule, the Lucknow–Naimisharanya Dham tour will operate every Friday, while the Lucknow–Ayodhya Sugam Darshan tour will run on Saturdays and Sundays. From Prayagraj, the Vindhyachal tour will be available every Friday, the Chitrakoot tour every Saturday, and the Ayodhya tour every Sunday.

Speaking about the initiative, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the growing popularity of spiritual tourism reflects increasing interest among visitors in the state's rich religious heritage.

“Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Visit My State’ campaign, we are making pilgrimage journeys more convenient and accessible. These regular tours to Ayodhya, Naimisharanya, Vindhyachal, and Chitrakoot will strengthen spiritual tourism and support the promotion of destinations associated with the Ramayana Circuit, Shakti Peeth Circuit, and India’s ancient spiritual traditions,” he said.

The one-day Lucknow–Naimisharanya Dham package is priced at Rs.1,700 per person and Rs.1,000 for senior citizens. The Lucknow–Ayodhya Sugam Darshan package, which includes VIP darshan at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, costs Rs.2,000 per person and Rs.1,500 for senior citizens.

The Prayagraj–Vindhyachal tour is available at Rs.600 per person, while the Prayagraj–Chitrakoot and Prayagraj–Ayodhya packages are priced at Rs.1,000 per person each.

All tour packages include lunch, refreshments, souvenir gifts, the services of experienced local guides, and special discounts for group bookings, ensuring a comfortable and enriching travel experience for pilgrims.

Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, Amrit Abhijat, said the initiative reflects the state's growing focus on promoting organized pilgrimage tourism.

“Through these regular tours, UPSTDC is enabling visitors to experience Uttar Pradesh’s major spiritual destinations in a seamless and well-organized manner. The tours will operate even if there is only one participant, ensuring greater accessibility for pilgrims and travelers,” he said.

The launch of these weekly pilgrimage circuits is expected to further strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as one of India’s leading spiritual tourism destinations while offering devotees a hassle-free way to explore the state's sacred heritage.
