Bengaluru Shopkeeper Slaps, Kicks Woman For Stealing Sarees Worth Rs 90,000 (VIDEO)
Bengaluru Police have arrested a shopkeeper and his assistant after they were caught on camera assaulting a woman in broad daylight for allegedly stealing sarees worth Rs 90,000.
The shocking incident took place on Avenue Road on Sunday and quickly went viral after videos recorded by locals began circulating on social media.
According to police, the woman, identified as Humpamma, had visited the shop and managed to steal a bundle of sarees. Though she initially escaped, her actions were recorded on the shop’s CCTV camera.
Later, when she returned to the same shop to allegedly steal more sarees, the shopkeeper recognized her and caught her red-handed. Enraged, he dragged her outside the shop and repeatedly slapped and kicked her on the busy street before handing her over to the police.
The violent act drew the attention of onlookers, many of whom filmed the incident on their phones.

Police confirmed that two separate cases have been registered — one against the woman for theft and another against the shopkeeper and his assistant for assault.
