A 21-year-old woman lost her life during a bungee-jumping event in Brazil after allegedly being pushed off a bridge without being properly attached to a safety cord, according to local authorities.
The tragic incident took place on Saturday at the "Skeleton Bridge" in Limeira, Sao Paulo state. Authorities have detained six people connected to the event—five men and one woman—as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.

The victim, identified as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, reportedly plunged around 40 meters (130 feet) into a ravine moments after being pushed from the jumping platform. Videos circulating on social media appear to show bystanders shouting that she was not connected to a safety rope before the jump. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but she was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Preliminary reports suggest event staff may have failed to secure Freitas to the necessary safety equipment before allowing the jump. Witnesses reportedly told police that a critical safety check may have been overlooked.

Local media reports also claim that some event organizers left the scene following the accident. Authorities later located two individuals who had allegedly fled, with police using a helicopter to assist in the search of nearby woodland areas.
