A video of senior Trinamool Congress leader and former minister Madan Mitra has gone viral on social media, where he can be heard claiming that Lord Ram was Muslim. The remark sparked strong political reactions.In the video, Mitra challenges a BJP leader in Delhi to prove that Lord Ram was Hindu. He asks: “Tell me Ram’s surname. Prove that Ram is a Hindu. Tell me his family name.” According to Mitra, none of the BJP leaders present—including Suvendu Adhikari—could respond.The Bengal BJP posted a clip of the speech on X, calling the statement an insult to Hindu sentiments. In its post, the party alleged that the comment reflected disrespect toward India’s culture and history, and accused TMC of being anti-Hindu.
