‘It's terrible’: Swedish cross-country skier suffers frozen penis at World Cup event

Swedish cross-country skier experienced a frozen penis after a chilly race in Finland

The unusual incident happened when Calle Halfvarsson was competing in the 20-kilometer World Cup event in Ruka

The temperatures dropped to -15 degrees Celsius at the start of the race

Halfvarsson said that he had to take shelter in athletes’ tent for 10 minutes to warm it up

He jokingly added, ‘It’s lucky that I’m about to have my second child because it’s going to be difficult in the future if I’m going to continue like this’

Asked if he could describe the pain, Halfvarsson said: ‘No. Those who know, they know. But here’s a tip from me. Stay away from it, because it is the worst thing you can experience’

Earlier, Finnish cross-country skier Remi Lindholm had frozen his penis during the Beijing Olympics in Feb 2022

Cross-country skiers compete in skin-tight racing suits leaving them susceptible to low temperatures
