Mumbai: In the absence of a big star, the films are generally dragged by the content and mouth publicity at the box office. Same goes with the Sri Devi starrer Mom which was released yesterday. The movie had a old rape revenge drama plot, but with a good story and proper direction. The presence of good actors like Nawazzuddin and Akshay Khanna makes the movie worth a watch.
However, this is not reflected in the opening day collection of the movie. The movie began the proceedings with merely 2.75 crore. Despite positive reviews from critics there was not much audience in the evening shows as well. Now Saturday and Sunday become very crucial for the movie. Makers of the movie need not to be worried due to the bad opening as movies like Hindi Medium have gained momentum despite failing initially and went on to become a hit.
