Two militants killed in north Kashmir encounter

Srinagar: Two militants were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in north Kashmir district of Baramulla in the wee hours, official sources said. They said on a tip-off about the presence of militants, security forces launched a search and cordon operation at Pazalpora Rafiabad, Sopore in Baramulla district late last night.

However, when the security forces were sealing the particular area, the militants opened fire, they said, adding the fire was returned ensuing a fierce encounter. Two militants were killed in the encounter, they said, adding that the identity of the militants was being ascertained. Some arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants. (UNI)
