Chennai: E-scooter manufacturer Ola Electric Mobility will roll out its first scooter from its plant at KrishnagirI in Tamil Nadu on August 15.
Company Chairman and Group CEO Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted, “Thanks to all who have reserved our scooter! “Planning a launch event for the Ola Scooter on 15th August. Will share full specs and details on product and availability dates. Looking forward to it!”.
The company has invested more than 2,000 crore in the facility.
The factory will have the capacity to manufacture around two million units of e-scooters annually and will also generate around 10,000 new jobs in what is said to be the largest scooter manufacturing facility in the world.
Built on nearly 500 acres of land in Krishnagiri district, Ola describes it as ‘Future Factory’. (UNI)
