There is something about Onam, that it has become already synonymous with the culture of Dravidians!

We all know that Onam is the biggest festival of Kerala. We also know that it is the harvest festival. But what most of the north Indians may not know that Onam Festival falls during the Malayali month of Chingam (Aug - Sep).

This also marks the homecoming of legendary King Mahabali. Carnival of Onam is ten days long and Kerala's culture and tradition can be seen in full bloom during these days.

Decorated Pookalam, ambrosial Onasadya, stunning Snake Boat Race and spectacular Kaikottikali dance are some of the most remarkable features of Onam.

Onam games also exhibit the bravado of the machos in a terrific manner in Kerala state. There are plenty of games that people play on the day of Onam like Onakalikal, alappanthukali, Kayyankali, Attakalam, Ambeyyal, KutuKutu.
