Wednesday, 26 May 2021 (17:33 IST)
Mangaluru: The Mulki Police have arrested five people on the charges of vandalising a Bakery shop and attacking its owner for a Facebook post in support of Israel.

Police said that the bakery owner had recently put up a Facebook post supporting Israel's action against the terror groups in Palestine. This reportedly infuriated a few local youth who barged into the bakery and ransacked the shop. The accused even forced the victim to tender an apology and filmed the incident.

It is said that the bakery owner even received threatening calls over the internet from abroad. Following this a complaint was lodged with Mulki police after some Hindu outfit leaders visited the bakery.

All the accused have secured conditional bail, the police added. (UNI)
