Updated: Friday, 9 June 2017 (16:27 IST)
New Delhi: The Supreme Court today stayed the Central government order to link Aadhaar with PAN till a constitution bench decides the matter. Headed by Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri and also comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan, the vacation bench had heard the detailed submissions from one of the petitioners, Vinay Visman, and other parties including the Narendra Modi dispensation.

The apex court also upheld the validity of the section 139 AA of the Income Tax Act which prescribes linking of PAN with Aadhaar. It, however, stayed the operation of the linking of Aadhaar with Permanent Account Number till the final judgement of the case by the constitution bench of the apex court. (UNI)
