Saturday, 4 November 2017 (21:29 IST)
New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) In a bid to take Indian khichdi to the global stage, Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday led an initiative which culminated in the cooking of 918 kg of the multigrain dish in one huge 'kadhai' to create a new world record.

The entire process, which was mastered by slow cooking of the dish using steam in a 1,000-litre stainless steel kadhai with a diameter of seven feet, was completed by using a crane to lift and weigh the container to make it eligible for an entry into the Guinness book of world records.
