Customers advised to plan transactions ahead of three day strike

Customers have been advised to complete branch-dependent banking transactions in advance as joint banking trade unions have called a nationwide strike from September 28 to 30.
The State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) has advised customers to make maximum use of digital and alternative banking channels during the strike period.
The SLBC has directed member banks in Kerala to take necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted availability of digital banking services and adequate cash at ATMs.
Customers can use UPI, QR code-based payments, mobile and internet banking, ATMs, Cash Deposit Machines, debit and credit cards, Point of Sale terminals, Bharat Bill Payment System, Business Correspondents, Customer Service Points and other available channels.
The SLBC, in coordination with member banks, the Reserve Bank of India, government authorities and Lead Bank Offices, is monitoring preparations to minimise disruption and ensure continuity of essential banking services.
The Committee said updates on the strike and availability of banking services would be communicated through banks’ official websites, SMS alerts and social media platforms.
