Colombia partially decriminalises abortion

Bogota:Colombia has become the latest country in Latin America to have had partially decriminalise abortion. The country's Constitutional Court ruled in favor of legalising abortion up until 24 weeks of a pregnancy, CNN quoted the supreme tribunal as saying on Monday.

The move has been lauded by nation's abortion rights advocates, who has been campaigning against the abortion law for past two decades. According to CNN, the Colombian Supreme Court's ruling follows recent decisions by Mexico's Supreme Court and Argentina's Senate to decriminalise abortion. (UNI)
