IT raid on K'taka Minister Shivakumar continues for second day
Bengaluru: IT sleuths are continuing searches for the second day on properties and offices of Karnataka Minister for Energy D K Shivakumar and his relatives including wife, in-laws and relatives. IT officials, assisted by CRPF personnel, began their simultaneous raid in more than 30 places in the state on the properties of his wife at Kanakapura, Ramanagaram, on the building of his father-in-law at Mysuru and relatives at Hassan.
According to sources, the raid continued throughout the night and the officers were verifying the documents seized and bank accounts. They may take up verifying Bank lockers. IT officials also visited Eagleton Resort where 42 Congress MLAs from Gujarat have been housed fearing luring by BJP before election to the Rajya Sabha.
Congress workers continued their agitation alleging that the raid was held on the behest of BJP leaders to tarnish the image of ruling Congress in the State In the City, KPCC Working President Dinesh Gundurao, Ministers Ramalinga Reddy and K J George led the agitators and sat on dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue and aired slogans against NDA government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
